4XJournal Important Update — it's not good news!

Hey everyone, René here, editor and owner of 4XJournal. I just wanted to reach out to you all to share some important updates on what has been going on behind the scenes here at 4XJournal. Launching a business, brand, and getting a magazine ready to go in just over two months has been a monumental task and I can’t have done it without my contributors, designers, and without the support of the advertisers that have jumped on board with us from the outset.

The goal for 4XJournal was to have the first issue arrive in New Zealand in time for Christmas. That was the reason I put a huge amount of pressure on myself to get the magazine done so quickly. Unfortunately though, we’ve just received an update from our printing company that there are delays with the shipping and the magazines will now be leaving on a later vessel. This means, the magazine will arrive in New Zealand a few days after Christmas, but being that most things are closed around then and it needs to clear customs, we’re only likely to get the magazine in the first week of January.

This was a devastating blow for me personally, as I pushed so hard to get the magazine to the printers on time, but shipping is simply out of our control. I am hugely proud of what we’ve achieved in such a short time and I thank you for pre-ordering and supporting our launch. Rest assured, as soon as that magazine is cleared from customs, I will be doing everything in my power to get it to you as soon as possible (keep an eye out for my Land Cruiser, as I might just drop them all off myself!).

I just want to take the time now to thank the advertisers that have jumped on board with 4XJournal. These are people that believe in the vision of 4XJournal and have supported it financially, using our outlet to advertise their products and services.

Partners:

Maxxis New Zealand — a huge thanks to Maxxis New Zealand for not only advertising with us, but they also supplied tyres for our Pre-Order giveaway competition. This was HUGE for us! Maxxis are our official tyre partner.

Trundles Automotive — not only are they advertising with us, they’re our official tech partner and deadset legends. Claire and Chris were one of the main supporters of me starting 4XJournal, and told me they’d back me from the outset.

Rockarmor NZ — Sam at Rockarmor has come on board in a big way, supporting the magazine and our vehicles with bullbars and winches! Rockarmor NZ is now our official vehicle protection partner.

AFN New Zealand — we’re hugely thankful for the support from Ash at AFN New Zealand. We’ve dealt with each other before, so it’s great to be working together yet again! Check out AFN's epic range of bull bars!

Suzuki NZ — having a vehicle manufacturer on board in our first issue is huge for us. We’re incredibly stoked to have Fiona and the Suzuki NZ team on board, advertising with us this year. The Suzuki community in New Zealand is massive, so it means a lot.

Probuilt Fabrication — Phil at Probuilt Fabrication is New Zealand’s biggest legend (he’s an Aussie, but I’m officially claiming him for NZ). He’s advertising with us, showcasing his insane fabrication skills and we’re featuring his very own Ford Ranger build as one of our main feature vehicles in Volume 001.

Judge and Company — Reuben at Judge and Co. has supported me for years, and now he’s on board supporting 4XJournal. That rad camping setup in the back of the Cruiser? Yep, Judge and Co’s handiwork!

Parnell Workshop — Jack at Parnell Workshop is a passionate Land Cruiser enthusiast and we’re stoked to have his workshop advertising their services in 4XJournal.

Maxtrax New Zealand — A huge thanks to Joel. Without Joel’s push (and a few others) we wouldn’t have launched 4XJournal.

Ecoflow NZ — Ecoflow NZ have jumped on board as a partner and advertiser of 4XJournal. We needed a remote power supply partner, and they came in to support us.

Fenix Radiators — Adrian, Ben, and Ash at Fenix are friends of ours and are now proud advertisers and supporters of 4XJournal. We’ve got a full five-page story in the first issue releasing an exciting new product with them. They’re New Zealand’s coolest dudes.

Auckland Camera Centre, with Canon New Zealand — Having the support of a camera store is incredibly handy for us, and we’ve had Rod’s support from Auckland Camera Centre for years. Auckland Camera Centre and Canon New Zealand are advertising in the first issue. If you need camera gear, give Rod a call — he’s a proper car enthusiast.

YHI New Zealand — Matt and the YHI team have locked in advertising in a big way, supporting our launch. We’re stoked to have them on board.

Volume 002 is shaping up to be a huge issue already and we couldn’t be happier with the feedback from the 4WD and adventure community here in New Zealand. We’d like to apologise again for the delay in delivery — we’re doing everything we can to get it out to you as soon as possible.

Thank you for your support, and we’d love for you to consider subscribing for the year — plus, you save on postage costs!
