Stockist Spotlight: Fenix Radiators

About the Business

Can you tell us a bit about Fenix Radiators — How did it all start?

Fenix Radiators started in 2004, supplying New Zealand with OEM replacement cooling options for passenger vehicles. Since then, we’ve become New Zealand’s leading vehicle cooling specialists, specialising in a wide range of automotive cooling parts, including radiators, intercoolers, oil coolers, and more for a variety of passenger, commercial, and track/off-road-oriented vehicles.

What kind of 4WD products or services do you specialise in?

We carry a huge range of OEM replacement radiators and intercoolers for a wide selection of Japanese, European, and American 4WD vehicles. We also stock a range of bolt-in performance radiators and intercoolers for models like the Mazda BT-50 and Ford Ranger, including our newly developed next-gen Ford Ranger intercooler kits. Beyond this, our range of universal radiators and intercoolers is popular among the 4WD community for custom cooling setups.

What’s something unique about your workshop/store that sets you apart?

Fenix is owned and operated by motorsport enthusiasts, so we use the parts we make. All of our parts are designed and tested in New Zealand.

Who’s on the team, and what are their areas of expertise?

4WD Passion & Experience

What’s your favourite part about working in the 4WD industry?

We’re exposed to a plethora of builds and the people behind them. Every day, we get something interesting rolling into the shop!

Do you have a favourite 4WD vehicle you’ve worked on or built?

We’re particularly proud of the Ford Ranger Raptor parts we produced for the next-gen platform.

What are some of the most common issues you see with customer vehicles?

Blown radiators. (Surprise!)

What’s one essential upgrade or piece of gear you’d recommend for any 4WD owner?

Quality fans and shrouds. 4WDs don’t tend to move too fast, so they need all the cool air they can get. If it’s automatic, an external transmission cooler is a must.

Community & Tracks

What’s your favourite local 4WD track or destination in New Zealand?

Muriwai has some special memories.

Do you have any memorable trips or adventures you’d like to share?

None that won’t get us in trouble.

Are you involved in any local 4WD events, clubs, or community initiatives?

We support a number of 4WD influencers and enthusiasts in New Zealand.

Carrying 4XJournal

Why did you decide to stock 4XJournal?

We loved the idea of a premium 4WD magazine and wanted to support René!

What do your customers think about the magazine?

It’s early days, but feedback from our close circles on the magazine has been fantastic.

If you could see any specific content in future issues, what would it be?

We would love to provide more technical segments like our Ranger intercooler kit from Vol. 1, as we develop more parts for 4WD vehicles. Stay tuned — we’re working hard behind the scenes!
