The Kaiju Quartermaster: A Monster of Customisation

INEOS Automotive has unveiled its first special project build in Australia: the formidable Kaiju Quartermaster. This one-off creation takes the robust Grenadier Quartermaster Cab Chassis and transforms it into a striking all-black off-road weapon that embodies the spirit of 4x4 customisation in both Australia and New Zealand.

The platform at launch was cool, but at the time, we felt it was hard to visualise a modified variant. That was until the INEOS team gave us a sneak peak at the Quartermaster launch of the Kaiju — what an absolute monster!

A Nod to Japanese Giants

The name “Kaiju,” inspired by the mythical Japanese term for “giant creature,” encapsulates the vehicle’s immense capabilities and celebrates Australia’s deep connection to modified Japanese 4x4 culture. Built in partnership with some of Australia’s most respected accessory brands, the Kaiju Quartermaster is as much a statement of engineering ingenuity as it is an off-road powerhouse.

Based on the versatile Quartermaster Cab Chassis, the Kaiju Quartermaster showcases the Grenadier’s adaptability for work and play. Designed as a blank canvas for customisation, the project demonstrates just how far Quartermaster owners can push their builds.

“We wanted to create a truly unique Quartermaster together with some incredibly innovative local engineering and accessory partners,” said Justin Hocevar, Regional Director, APAC at INEOS Automotive. “Ultimately, the Kaiju Quartermaster expresses our Australian vision of Built For More.”

About INEOS Automotive

Founded in 2017 by adventurer and car enthusiast Jim Ratcliffe, INEOS Automotive is dedicated to creating uncompromising 4x4s that blend rugged capability with modern reliability. With its global launch in 2022, the Grenadier has already cemented itself as a standout in the off-road market. The introduction of the Kaiju Quartermaster continues INEOS’ tradition of pushing boundaries and redefining the potential of adventure vehicles.

Is it coming to New Zealand?

Although INEOS could not confirm New Zealand would get this exact spec, it's likely New Zealand will get something similar, but built to New Zealand standards/legal requirements. Can we all just take a minute to applaud an OEM for modifying something to this extent? And, for supporting local businesses that are at the top of their game — well done team, now bring on the Kiwi version!
